In 1973, the company marked a notable milestone in its development trajectory by being listed on the “stock exchange” which was also the biggest stock market flotation of that period. Throughout the following years, the company has invariably diversified and innovated its offerings which cater to diverse consumer preferences and needs. Presently Sainsbury’s supplies groceries, home essentials, apparel and clothing items, electronics, online shopping services and many other products and services. Being a supermarket chain in the UK the company also has to encounter immense competition from various business rivals and Tesco is one of the biggest competitors of Sainsbury’s.
